Meet Dr. Lewis

Education

 

Dr. Lewis attended the Colorado College as an undergraduate, where she graduated in 1987, majoring in Biology and Southwestern History.  Following C.C., she went on to dental school at the University of Colorado and graduated in 1992 earning her D.D.S.  Dr. Lewis completed a general practice residency at Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City in 1993.  After several years of practicing as a general dentist, Dr. Lewis returned to school to specialize in Pediatric Dentistry.  In 1997, she completed her Pediatric Dental residency at Harvard University.

 

Work Experience

 

Pediatric Dental Associate, Salt Lake City UT -- 2000-2001 -- Keith J. Poulsen, DDS, 7138 S. 2000 E., Suite 216, Salt Lake City, UT.  Provided pediatric dental care for new and existing patients in the practice, provided option of full mouth dental rehabilitation under general anesthesia.

 

Pediatric Dentist on Staff at Primary Children’s Medical Center, Salt Lake City, UT -- 2000-2001 -- Clinical staff attending for the pediatric dental residency program.

 

Staff Pediatric Dentist Northern Navajo Medical Center, Shiprock, NM -- 1997-2000 -- Providing clinical dental services to all children age 12 and under, supervised dental assistants, and provided dental care for children under general anesthesia.

 

Staff Dentist Winslow Indian Wellness Center, Winslow, AZ -- 1993-1995 -- Provided general dental services for children and adults in the small, remote community of Dilkon, AZ with the responsibility of supervising three dental assistants.

 

Professional Associations

 

Dr. Lewis is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Metro Denver Dental Association.  She is board eligible and currently completing her certification.

 

Biographical Information

 

Dr Lewis was raised in Teesto, Arizona and attended boarding school in the nearby town of Dilkon.  Her family moved to Winslow when she was in High School and she graduated from Winslow High School in 1983.  She is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation and her family continues to reside on the reservation in Teesto.
